The Story of La Pacha
Welcome to our little corner of paradise! Situated a 20 min bus ride between San Gil and Barichara, we are an Anglo-Colombian family with two teenage children, three cats, three small dogs and ten chickens. La Pacha is our home and we manage the hostel, restaurant and organic farm ourselves. We have a natural swimming pool, we cook delicious curries (see our reviews) and serve our home-grown organic coffee and free natural spring water. We have an outdoor shared kitchen with pizza oven and campfire . We also offer all the extreme sports of San Gil and cultural activities of Barichara. We will treat you like one of our own. La Pacha's style is rustic, simple and beautiful! You can stay in the hobbit house dorm, the dome dorm or private yurts or gypsy wagon. The yurts and domes have earth floors and no electricity, but we provide solar lamps and lockers with electric sockets (the hobbit house does have it's own electricity). We have loads of games and sports (hiking, archery, volleyball, darts, frisbee, Catan, and more) . You can walk to Barichara or a local waterfall. We have a strong environmental ethos: in this way we offer vegetarian food, dry toilets, solar showers, natural swimming pool and organic farm. We also recycle and compost our waste, repair as much as possible, use recycled furniture and materials and practice bio-construction. La Pacha is unique, beautiful and also economical! We support local charities , giving our guests the opportunity to give something back to this incredible country. It's also close enough to San Gil to do all the extreme sports from here. If you want a magical place and contact with nature, La Pacha is for you!
Directions
We are located 9 km on the road between San Gil and Barichara in The Guayabal neighbourhood.
NB. Don't use Waze. It shows the wrong route.
By bus
From the main terminal: Check at the Cotrasangil office if there is a bus going straight to Barichara or Villanueva. If not, you'll have to walk, bus or taxi 2km downhill to the terminalito (small terminal).
From the terminalito: Take the Barichara or Villanueva bus and tell the driver "La Pacha". If you phone us beforehand, we can pick you up from the stop (see the sign below). If not, get off at the stop and from there follow the signs. It's a 2km walk from the main road. The last bus leaves at 8pm.

By Car
From San Gil take the Barichara road. In 20 mins you'll pass Monaco Swimming Pool. Take the first left after Monaco and you will see our sign. Taxi
We strongly recommend using our taxis as they know the way and charge a much fairer price. You should pay $35.000
